Question 1:Why do dogs (and cats & ferrets for that matter) drink out of the toilet?

Answer:Because when they need water, they need water and at that point they
don’t much care where it comes from. With a Waterbowl.com automatic pet-watering bowl your pet will never be that thirsty again!

Question 2:What is the water bowl made from?

Answer:The main basin and its mechanisms are constructed of a sturdy ABS blend of plastic that is resistant to the ultra violet rays of the sun and the float is polypropylene plastic.  All of the plumbing fittings are made of high quality brass for corrosion resistance.  Your water bowl also comes with a 25-foot length of ¼ inch polypropylene tubing or you can opt for ¼ inch copper tubing if you think your pet might have a chewing problem. All of these materials are recognized as being safe for your pet’s water enjoyment.

Question 3:How do I keep my pets new water bowl clean?

Answer:Since it ties into your existing garden hose bib and leaves your garden hose available for use, you just squirt it out every once in a while with the garden hose.  The bowl will find its level and refill normally as your pet drinks from it.

Question 4:What is an anti siphon law?

Answer:Anti siphon laws and devices were put into place to keep “used” and stagnant water from contaminating your home and the cities fresh water supply.  For instance, when a fire truck or construction contractor hooks up to a fire hydrant, the pump in the truck creates a tremendous suction on the cities fresh water supply. If for example, you placed your garden hose in the swimming pool to fill it and the fire department hooked up to a hydrant in your area, the water from the pool would be sucked into your hose, into your house, and into the cities water.  This could get ugly depending on the condition of your pool water or water in any other unprotected basin. The Waterbowl.com water basin uses the most effective anti siphon method available. Most automatic pet watering bowls actually have their valves submerged in the basin, which makes them candidates for siphon problems and for that matter, illegal.

Question 5:What if my dog chews on everything I put in the backyard?

Answer:It has been our experience that typically: dogs don’t bite the hand that feeds them and don’t chew up the bowl that feeds or waters them (unless they are frustrated with them being empty too often)!  Since your new water bowl will always be full this will not likely be an issue.  However, if your dog tends to chew a lot he might chew on the polypropylene supply line provided with your new water bowl because he doesn’t associate it with his survival.  In these rare cases we recommend using ¼ inch flexible copper tubing as a supply line.  This can be purchased (by the foot) with your water bowl here at our Web site or at any hardware store at a later date if chewing should become an issue.  Concealing the polypropylene supply line is usually sufficient.

Question 6:How “mechanically inclined” do I need to be to install my new pet watering system?

Answer:The well written and illustrated step by step installation instructions that come with your pets new watering bowl takes the guess work out of the installation process.  You will need some basic tools, the most exotic being a hand or power drill for mounting the water bowl to the wall.

Question 7:  Do I have to mount my new water bowl to a wall?

Answer:Your new water bowl comes with feet on the basin that allows it to operate free standing on level ground.  However, Waterbowl.com strongly recommends permanently mounting the bowl to a wall or post in order to insure that your pet doesn’t tip the basin over which will result in a continuous slow flow of water onto the ground until the bowl is righted or the water is turned off.

Question 8:Can I use my new water bowl indoors?

Answer:Though it is certainly handsome enough to accent any décor, Waterbowl.com does not recommend installing the watering system inside your home, especially freestanding on the floor or on the counter.

Question 9:What does an aerospace background have to do with an automatic pet watering bowl anyway?

Answer:Aerospace hardware is engineered, manufactured, and tested to the most stringent specifications and tolerances of any product manufacturing business. Your new Waterbowl.com automatic pet-watering bowl was created and is held to these same types of rigorous exacting standards in order to assure you the highest quality for years of trouble free service.
